Motorsportmugs Blog
Back in 2008 I purchased a vinyl cutting machine a customer that I had produced stickers for enquired about having some mugs done, I looked in to the processes and purchased the equipment .
The customer did not order so in 2010 I needed something to print to use the mugs we had. so the idea was to have a range of mugs maybe 6 rally cars the first mug I ever produced was this mk1 escort photo with a photoshop effect
this was put on eBay and sold in 10 minutes to Finland I reprinted it and the next sold in 20 minutes so I realised I was on to something.i spent the next few nights thinking of names and Motorsportmugs.co.uk was free so it was purchased and set up as was the Facebook page, more Rally car photos were added to mugs we and quickly had a range of 20+ mugs we also purchased Rally mugs.co.uk and race mugs.co.uk.
on a trip to the 2011 northwest stages their were some ladies with the bump over crest tshirts and I thought we could do pacenotes on mugs, we researched and no one in the world was doing that so the first pacenote mug was born.
However these were made up notes then We had an idea to produce gift sets of real stage notes first one was the Tobermory to Dervaig set
we now have 5 different stages including molls gap.
2012 saw us attend our first show the pirelli Rally,to boost our range we also got a licence to sell koolart kartoon images which we still have today.also we had a trip to Belgium to the boucels de spa were a delta s4 photo was taken and added to the mugs
2016 saw our mk2 escort keyrings added to the site these are hand made in the uk to our spec
as the years have gone by we have added many products ,phone cases ,mousematts, jigsaws ,tshirts keyrings etc we now have over 150 lines.
2019 saw a small shift as we were asked to photo and print at a tour/show after a steap learning curve over the weekend we looked at rolling an arrival photo service at car shows ,we attended 6 shows in 19 and proved very successful and popular, more shows were planned in 2020 but with the lockdown shows got cancelled so we will be looking at 2021 now but if you run a show/tour in the north west and would be interested in us being there get in touch.
So there you have it that's where we came from
