6th of July saw the return of motorsport to Cumbria in the form of the Kirkby Lonsdale motor clubs devils lockdown tests at rowrah kart Track.
Motorsport mugs was pleased to be asked to sponsor the event once again, we have sponsored the devils own rally since 2016, However due To Covid 19 this year's event was very different as unfortunately navigators are not allowed in cars so the event had to take on an auto test style.
The event consisted of 18 test spread over three different areas of the track, the event attracted crews from many disciplines of motorsport many top historic, targa, autotest drivers attended making a interesting entry list.
Results were done remotely by rally roots allowing crews to find results online l, the event results can be found here http://rallyroots.com/index.html.
Our day started quite early with the drive up to rowrah first job on the list was to assist with the test set up, test one was on gravel with various manoeuvers around The circuit helipad test 2 used the tarmac roads around the circuit's paddock and test three used a large proportion of the circuit,There were various manoeuvres around cones and most of the junctions were a arrowed to assist the driver's with which way to go as remember they didn't have navigators. The event got underway at 11 o'clock with six tests,Test one and four we ferried timecards for the results team after test six there was a change around for all the tests so they needed re-arrowing .
Test 7 to 12 we managed to take a few photographs, And then it was back into the van for the final change of the day for tests 13 to 18.After 18 it was a big strip down and tidy up to put the Circuit back to normal, I think most of the competitors enjoyed their days sport as as there seem to be a lot of smiling faces. Well done to Martyn and the devils team for pulling off another cracking event even in these trying times. Photos can be found here https://photos.app.goo.gl/M4rtjyYa4DeJ6uMQ7
